i have lost my droid x and reverted back to using my og droid but it is failing fast. I was wondering if i did insurance through og droid what phone they will replace it with? or if anyone has done insurance on their og droid lately. want the screen size back of my x but if the replacement for og droid is now something non blur i might go that route lol thanks for any info

I am really interested in this as well. My mother and I are going to trade in out OG droids due to radio issues. We love them to death, but the problems are proving to be more troublesome than our love for Motorola's build quality. I was listening to the Android Central Podcast about a month ago. A person was having the same problem as myself. He got a Droid 2. I am thinking that I will do the same for my mother and I. It should hold us over until our contract expires in February. Hopefully a dualcore with LTE and an acceptable battery exists by then.

If I had to guess it would probably be replaced with the D2G or D2G if they had no OGs to replace it with.

My friend just got an insurance replacement for his Droid.... and they gave him another Droid.

shocking that they have no incredibles but they have og droids that are almost a year older

I replaced mine 3 weeks ago due to radio issues and got a 'certified' replacement original Droid. I had read rumors from a few months back that people were scoring D2's, but apparently Verizon has dug some up from somewhere.

I feared that I would get some sort of refurb that came back through the VZ tradein / buyback program but I got what looked to be a pretty brand new OG Droid. No nicks, no bumps or bruises and a flawless screen ...it really did look like a brand new phone right out of the box. Only difference is that Verizon makes you keep your battery and battery door, charger, etc.. and just send the phone back to them.

It will be nice to sell to Gazelle or via eBay's buyback program when I upgrade.

PS: The rep on the phone gave me the run around, or tried to and finally she told me to pick up the insurance for $2 and then send phone back... which is what I did and how I got the phone because mine was 'out of warranty'.

Did you report it lost? They still replace lost/stolen ones.

I am going to try to have mine replaced in two weeks. Hopefully they will not give me the run around, and hand me an OG Droid covered in cobwebs. I love my Droid, but I am not sure if I can keep with the same device until February when my contract is up. When I spoke to the technical services rep at the Verizon store in my area, she said there is a high chance that I would get a D2. Hopefully she is there again when I go to replace both my phone, and my mother's.

Yeah why would you not just use your insurance to replace it? Unless you originally had the OG, bought the X off contract and activated it, etc. I think they might only replace with what the insurance started with, which is a bit crappy.
