Interesting article on Pixel3 camera

This was, for me, a very interesting article on the Pixel3 camera and computational photography. Admittedly, I don't understand some of the details of computational photography but I can understand the results.

Thanks for the link. It is a good read. Certainly I'm not putting my DSLR away in favour of my Pixel 2XL or when I decide to upgrade, but I definitely don't use it as much as I used to.
There is a lot of computer power going on in these little phones. It shows us how as technology advances, more and more can be done.
What I like about the article is that it talks a little about the methodology behind the pics, which shows that the engineers actually understand photography and how people use their phone cameras. Instead of thinking, "Hey, a 40 megapixel sensor will make the photos better", they actually took the time to engineer better photos.

Great read. Lot to take in and some of the granular information was outside of my depth. But anytime a Google engineer can add insight, and not just speculate like most of these tech site are doing these days, I'm on board.
