I got a replacement PH-1 through insurance, mine took a 5 foot fall. It didn't shatter the screen just a few cracks on the corner it landed and some lcd panel discoloration. That was with out a case, because I hate cases a lot. Especially on this beautiful device!
I have noticed on my replacement device the screen is much brighter and the whites are more white. It makes me wonder if they have tweaked the lcd panel post launch. My original phone I got the day the released it for Sprint. My old device is running 8.1 while the replacement is on 7.1.1. Not sure if Android version would affect the over accuracy of the display. I wouldn't image that a drop would significantly lower the accuracy of a display across the board.
