Two weeks ago, started having this issue where phone calls were very scratchy on both ends for me and the person recieving my call. I have figured out by lightly tapping my phone on something hard it will stop. It is completely intermittent, random, and happens about 50% of the time. Have tried battery and sim card pull to no avail. I am completely stock, unrooted.

try a factory reset. Probably won't make a difference, but they will ask you to do it before sending a replacement phone, assuming that you have warranty.

Are you in a 4G area? The 4G antenna is located in the battery cover, so you might want to take the battery cover off and make sure the contacts are clean and making good contact.

Does signal strength drop when this happens?
