Sometimes (maybe once or twice out of 20+ times), my phone gets very hot (over 140 degrees) when on the Samsung quick charger (the upright one, for lack of a better description) AND it doesn't charge or charges just a tiny bit. I'm wondering if it's caused by improper placement on the charger? I try to center the phone and make sure the back of the phone is flush against the charging plate but maybe I'm failing to always do that? There has to be SOMETHING different about the charging, between the many times it charges without getting hot, and the times the phone is extremely hot. Anyone else experience nearly random hot charging using the Samsung quick wireless chargers?

BTW, I so seldom use a cable to charge, that I can't recall it ever getting hot via that charging method.

It sounds more like the phone isn't doing something right - an intermittent failure of the internal charging circuit. Either you place it on the charger correctly and it charges, or you don't and nothing happens.

Any time I hear of a hot battery in a Samsung now, I suspect the phone.

Do you have the regular charging pad or the quick charging pad? My mother bought the regular charging pad anden it charges slower than the cable. Maybe that's why? Like literally it would be on the charger all night and not be charged to 100%

Did I not already say that it's the fast charging pad? When it sometimes gets hot it get hot in just a few minutes--it doesn't take hours (I don't leave on for hours). BTW, we have 5 charging pads in the house. 3 are quick and 2 are the hockey puck (flat) Samsung std. chargers. There is a connection between the heat and lack of proper charging. I just dont know what the root cause is.
