Internal memory filled with non-existing photos

Hello,

I have an old phone (Galaxy S) running OS version 4.0.4.
Internal memory is ~2GB. If I go to Settings > Storage I can see that there
is 1.01 GB Pictures and Videos on the internal memory. The problem is, there is
absolutely no pictures and videos on my internal memory. The camera is set
to save photos on external card, and I clean WhatsApp images daily. I have only
WhatsApp, Clean Master, and a transportation app. That's it.

Any ideas?

Download a file manager if you don't already have one. Go into the settings of the file manager and make sure its set to show hidden files. Then look in your folders for pics

Can I ask what a file manager is (and which one to download for a galaxy S )and how one would go about downloading and using one ?
