Hi, I am mrsmadhunter. I am formerly an iphone user, so I am very new to the android market.

I wanted to be more mobile so I got the galaxy tab 8.9 ( Still not sure if I made the right chioce). The galaxy skyrocket phone came with it with AT&T. I like the devices for the most part, but they are loaded down with bloatware.

Is there a way to get rid of all the bloat without rooting the devices?

Welcome to the Android Central forums. Bloatware is annoying and removing it was what led me to root my first Android device (HTC Thunderbolt). The Getting Started link at the top of the page has plenty of helpful information. Enjoy!

Welcoem to the forums and the world of Android. Most phones you can now uninstall some of the pre installed bloatware that comes on the device. But in order to get rid of it all, you will need to root and install a custom ROM.

Thanks for the info. One more quick question. I know the knew ice cream sandwich is coming out soon. If I root it know will it affect the update to the new system?

If you root and then ics comes out for your phone, you will have to unroot to get the update and then wait a little while for root access again. Or you can just wait for a good ics rom.
