Androids old OS wiped the floor with IOS 6. It seemed like this year was catchup for Apple

Welcome to the iCult mentality. I run itto it every day. It's not worth fighting when someone has already made up their mind without looking at the facts. It's kinda like talking politics, just nod and move on.

It does give me a warm fuzzy though when they are eventually bitten by the Unicorn and can't do something because Steve won't let them.

Some like Android phones other like the iphone.
It's just another personal choice driven by your own likes and needs. I don't begrudge anyone for exercising their own personal preference.

Yeah, unless you own a gnex or a handful of other phones, you're one(or more) versions behind on Android as well. Whats really sad is that the Android OS is so awesome, but nobody can enjoy the SOB till 6-12 months after it comes out. If then. 90% or more of all iphone users will have iOS 6 available to them the day it is released. :-/

It is because of all the many manufacturer customizations to differentiate themselves from the other Android manufactures. Apples model is way better for distribution of new software.

If the iPhone had homescreen widgets, I'd have one.

8 hours since charging, used for 1.5 hours and only down 12% battery. No, not sarcasm.

Battery usage is much better with Apple.

I just hacked my Epic 4G with an ICS ROM and the phone is now amazing.. Prior to that, the phone with unrooted Gingerbread was extremely buggy, even for the most fundamental features... I chalked it up as Android's inherent substandard-ness compared to iOS or Windows... Was on a path to go away from Android when my contract is up in Sep.. However having experienced the raw ICS on my 2-years old phone, I'm willing to give Android another try, and I might even keep using my Epic 4G with ICS...

If I go with a new phone with 4.0 + manufacture customization, I'm not certain what kind of user experience I will get.. Google is doing themselves a huge disservice by letting manufactures integrate crap into their OS..
