iOS 7 vs Android

Apple is never going to give up their " It's our way or the highway" total control of their devices. They decide how your device should work, what is permitted on it, and you either like it or go elsewhere. Currently there are more Android devices being activated every month than Apple devices, so apparently the freedom that Android offers their customers seems to be doing quite well.

...so you can't change or upgrade it. Yeah, thats awesome.

What advantage does OS-level integration provide exactly?

Yeah if stock it's good I don't need to change anything. I don't use widgets on my nexus 4 because most of the time I don't need them. The today view eliminates the need for widgets IMO

A replaceable battery would allow you to do that.

Amazon.com: Samsung Galaxy S3 4300mAh Extended Battery and Cover - Pebble Blue and Extended TPU Case - Black and External Battery Charger w/ USB Output (Compatible with Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300, AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 Samsung i747, Verizon Samsu

I have had them before, and they are awesome. Going days between charges without having to turn stuff off is such a luxury.

I go till I get on a plane without turning stuff off. USB ports are every where, in my cars, house, computers, ect... I have more spare micro USB cables than Carter has tiny pills. I have never bought an extra battery for a phone in my life. So, this go around I bought a phone that didn't have a replaceable battery. It's never been an issue, never has, never will. 4.7" 1080 P and dual front firing speakers for the win...

I personally was very happy with iOS 7 and will return to it due to more apple services being available for my country and it works with my Mac(will never use windows) also many things I switched to android for have been fixed with iOS 7. so I won't be posting much here anymore.

That's more to do with all the free Androids you can get when upgrading. There's an abundance of free Androids you can choose from. Most ppl who upgrade just grab what's free like my parents.

Well it's happened to me and that's my experience
Your experience appears to be an exception to the rule. I don't think I have ever seen even one other nexus 4 user complain about freezing because of a live wallpaper.

So you are not returning because the product is better. You are returning because you are already locked into their ecosystem and they fixed some of the flaws with the OS.

The best selling Android phones are also the most expensive phones. My rezound was $250 when I bought it, and that was on contract. All the other top tier Android phones were prices the same.

Finding a place to charge your phone at 1am on a weekend downtown is annoying. Trying to charge your phone on a camping trip is annoying. There are lots of times when a charger is hard to come by...that is the time you will appreciate extended batteries more I think.

I love the Nexus 4, but I really miss that huge battery life. If I played games it would be a lot worse.

That's another one of those times where external charges come in handy for phones that have the battery under the screen. It's clearly not your ideal scenario, but it gets the job done and can last weeks without having to recharge the charger if you're only using it to supplement regular usage. 13,000MAh extra is a big deal.

I already did that...Got the Samsung external battery (9000mAh). It is definitely better than nothing, but removable batteries would be a lot more convenient. (and cheaper)

He might be returning because the product is better for him. I have no apple devices I've previously owned an iPhone 4 I will use my upgrade on the iPhone 5s because it is a better product for me. I currently own a nexus 4 and there is nothing I do with my nexus that I can't do the same or better with the iPhone 5/5s.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using AC Forums mobile app

For the vast majority of people this is probably close to true, as they don't come close to using the full functionality of their devices. If all you do is text, call, browse the web, take pictures, etc. there is almost no difference.

Yes but when it is done by an Apple product it is a vastly superior experience.

That's somewhat subjective, depending on the devices being compared. I personally can't stand the iOS UI, but I do appreciate the smoothness of transitions, etc. They certainly do spend a lot more time on polish and it shows, but that's not overly attractive to me if I feel like I'm losing something to get it. But, I'm one of the people that I exclude from the majority in phones, because I spend a lot of time thinking about, writing about and playing with phones. The particulars of each OS matter very much to me in how I can/do use it. Conversely, many people are really particular about other things that I couldn't care less about.
