I work in a welding and fabrication shop, every phone I have ever used has had problems with the small metal particulates that happen in this environment. The 6plus I am using until my note 8 gets here has been beat up pretty bad by it. I can’t use speaker phone because the speakers barely work anymore, people complain they can’t hear me on the phone. I understand the 6 is total dust protection and the 8 is for moisture, but is metal particulates categorized as dust also, the magnets in the speakers really seem to attract the dust and that’s what I am worried about!

You need extra protection, get a cheap Lifeproof clone or even the real thing, don't kill your note.
