IPad Mini(or Nano) vs. NEXUS7...........stay loyal to android or switch?

The problem with iPad is that yes it has the best apps for a tablet but then when you go back to the home screen, 2007 smacks you in the face real hard.

I actually think otherwise. I was using my buddies ipad and the apps pretty much sucked. Most apps seemed to cost money and even those didn't seem appealing. I personally find a lot more great free apps in Google.

iOS is nothing more then a well designed prison. I personally do not want to go to prison so I will be avoiding the new iPad.

This is why I am sort of based towards android. Ipad is nice and all but I won't buy it out of spite until they open up their software and quit being communists. :-) It's just the principal of it.

Since I can't seem to quote for some odd reason.. as mentioned on page 1, until the day Apple stops being patent bullies, I refuse to ever buy an Apple product. It is just ridiculous. They claimed patent on rounded corners and pulled that out on Samsung, and yes, they deserved some of it but seriously, rounded corners? Are all devices that are non-apple supposed to be rectangular with sharp corners good for poking your eye out or jabbing you in the leg? Things like that just annoy me with Apple. There is a point in time when technology needs to be shared for the greater good of humanity.

I'm only loyal once I've invested something in it. I've spent real money on apps between the N7 and my phone. Plus I'm already using a lot of other google services (like gmail) and they integrate better with Android than iOS. The same goes for my kindle. I've invested so much in books on Amazon, and I can use it's Android app in a pinch, that it makes it useless to purchase a book through Google when I get better functionality and price with the kindle.

Exactly. It's about ecosystem, not hardware. The iPad is a great tablet, but I'm invested heavily in the Android ecosystem (and really like it), so that's where my loyalty is at. Thoughts of new hardware only come into play when they are within my chosen ecosystem.

A deck of playing cards has rounded corners. LAWSUIT!

No thanks. I love my iPad (3) as it's still the best tablet in my opinion, but for 7" tablets I'll stick with my Nexus 7.

These are 2 VERY different devices. Switch if you want, but you should definitely be able to tell which one fits you better very quickly.

Agree. I like diversity, so I'm going to stick with my iPad 3 (still the best tablet I've ever owned and I've gone through a lot) and the Nexus 7 for my 7 inch.
