Iphone 4 "best smartphone available"

A good majority of people need a locked-down device with only the ability to load approved apps.
We did a lot of this to ourselves.
People hack and load up a bunch of junk apps that cause a device instability, and then blame the device.
Too many people don't realize why their device works so good when they get it brand new, and then starts acting weird after they load up a bunch of apps.
One of the first things tech support would tell people was to 'hard-reset' - wipe the device clean.

Apple may have 'evil' motives for being so controlling, but it also may be to ensure a clean stable device.

Yea when they spoke about the video calling they couldn't even admit that the EVO does it on 3g n fr EVO to pc but they look like they're on apples ****

Yikes, you have selective memory. Apple has a history of major fail. IPhone has bailed their asses off. Basically, they are a phone manufacturing company right now. Be wary of going long AAPL. If anything, if you want to make money - big money, have a good stockbroker that will let you go short.

Well, i was talking about more of in recent history.

2 things:

- Engadget has absolutely ZERO self respect or credibility.
- I'm glad I didn't waste 5 min of my life reading their review.

They do have their slight biases but overall I would say they are very credible. I would go so far as to say they are the best tech blog on the net.

I guess the question is; did they say anything about the iPhone that wasn't true?

They obviously have huge credibility in that so many sites use them as a resource for breaking news - including AndroidCentral.

What do you guys think about this statement made by engadget in the review of the iPhone 4. I personally have had every model of the iphone up untill the Evo came out and I switched. I cant see myself going back to the iphone after using the Evo and android. What about you guys though?

Well, since Engagdet said it, I think it's a load of fanboy tripe. It's ridiculous to compare two devices when one hasn't even been launched yet. You might as well say the Evo comes in second to the Apple brain implant with optic-nerve HUD connectivity which will be released as soon as Steve Jobs can get a patent on the human brain (at which point he will announce that Apple just invented the human brain).

Or maybe that's too harsh. Here's a quick test. I just made a phone call on my Evo. It sounded good. I'm trying that now on the new iPhone . . . hmm . . . well, just believe me. It will sound better.

Can't find the exact quote because I have blocked Engadget now through my DNS. But basically in the review, they mentioned how the video chat was "magical" or something to that effect. Not necessarily untrue, but they wrote it as if it was the first time they had done such a thing on a phone. Surely they've used the video chat on their EVO's by now...

best smartphone ever with orange/yellow spots on the screen. Hilarious...

But as stated earlier, iPhones are great for those that want a simple yet feature packed "smartphone" and Android is great for those that like to tweak etc.

So depending on which side you fall on, iPhone is the best smartphone out there or not

OMG the "multitasking" is a joke.

But imagine that type of display on an Evo screen *drools* except the yellow spots of course lol

For all you guys saying Android is good for people who like to tweak and the iphone is good for people who want a dumbed down smartphone experience. I have to say my totally non-tech, anti geek (except me) g/f is loving her Evo and the Android platform. She does her mail and internet and uses a ton of apps that fit her needs.

It's funny, all those Apple apps right, but how many do people actually use that aren't on Android?

Like I said after using android and the Evo 4G for the first time since having iphones I would never go back unless apple did something amazing. First off sprint so far is an amazing carrier compared to ATT where I live. I get turn by turn sprint TV unlimited everything and a slew of other **** for a fraction of what I was paying ATT. Thats just a carrier comparison Android is superior in my opinion to ios. I love my 4.3 inch screen im in love with widgets IM in love with just about everyhting. Yeah the iPhone 4 is a beautiful device but my Evo is just as sexy. I prefer the android m arketplace over apples and I prefer the look of android over ios. I just have one question is it worth it to root my evo or should I just leave it the way it is? What are the advantages to rooting it and what are some things ill be able to do that I cant do now?

I too owned all iphones, until I got my evo.

I think iPhone 4 is the best smartphone out there by this definition. If you pulled some random person out of the pool of people who want a phone, chances are they'd like the iPhone the most.

iPhone is easy, and whoever said that a smooth OS isn't worth anything never really use d an iPhone. That is the thing I miss the most.

Sometimes I see my friend with his 3G and I pick it up and mock the screen size and such, but then I start swiping and thinking, "God damn that's sexy".

Apple nailed it 3 years ago, hopefully froyo will nail it now.

I got my daughter a MacBook Pro, this is my first contact with Apple product, i played with my friends Mac and iPhone, but now i have the time to really sit down and play with it and I starting to understand Apple thinking, they like to keep it ( K.I.S.S ) Keep It Simple Stupid, and this is across all of there products. This is why iPhone is such a huge success it is for people who dont want to do anything with the phones just take it out of box and run with it, it is all about the app, there apps make the phone. This is a smart thing Apple did. Still love my EVO.

Guys have any of you reading what is going on with the Dark Side ( Iphone )?

Look at engadget and boy genius to get the latest scoop on iphone and its ton of problems, make evo look like infant with its problems.
