iPhone 7 Plus vs Honor 8 nighttime shots

Top ones are iPhone. Second ones are Honor 8 auto,third ones where available are using the nighttime mode. I didn't use a tripod and I don't have steady hands so the nighttime mode ones were usually blurry,but shouldn't be an issue with tripod or steady hands. I did try to stabilize it on a ledge on most shots but it still was blurry. No flash in all photos.

Nice shots, thanks for sharing. It's interesting how for some of these shots, the Honor holds its own with the iPhone 7+. It does seem like nighttime mode is a hit or miss, which I didn't expect.

The shutter time in night mode was usually 4-7 seconds with the max being 17 seconds. That's a long time to keep the phone absolutely still in your hands. You can use the pro mode to set whatever shutter time you want though.

Absolutely agree. The Honor 8 can hold it's own against the iPhone 7.

I am certainly very impressed. The iPhone is a little better when zooming in and in certain situations but really the honor 8 is not really far behind. It is a very good camera for the price range

@Chums thanks for posting that other thread. It's a great comparison.

On the nighttime mode, I actually haven't used it yet on my Honor 8. Does seem like a long time to keep the shutter open (and 'mr shaky hands' over here might not be able to hold the phone still, especially after my daily coffees). lol

You can use pro mode to adjust to what you like.
