iPhone FB Messenger doesn't receive photos from Android FB Messenger

Hi,
I normally send multiple photos from my Android phone via FB Messenger to people with iPhones. And they are not getting them.
When I repeat/resend - they get it.

People with iPhones just get the message (title of my photos) but not the actual photos. Those photos are not downloaded later either.

Internet connection is OK (LTE works perfectly).
Forums suggest turning off data savers etc. This is turned off at both ends.

Does anybody know why iPhones are not getting FB Messenger photos?

I am an iPhone user (vising from iMore) and usually avoid accepting photos on FB Messenger, but I've asked a friend with an Android to send me a photo via FB Messenger. I'll report back.

Edited to add: I received the photo just fine.
