Iphone text messages go to my MacBook computer and not my Galaxy phone. why?

Iphone text messages sometimes to to my MacBook computer and not my Galaxy S21 Plus phone. How do I fix that?

The problem is the person with an iPhone is messaging you via imessage instead of a regular text message. Since the Galaxy cannot recieve iMessages but your Mac can, that's why this is happening.

I haven't personally delt with this problem in a few years so I'm not sure the best fix available now. It used to be you'd deregister your phone number with iMessage.

If your phone number used to be associated with an iPhone, you will need to go to the Apple website and inform the iMessage service that your phone number is no longer associated with iMessage.

there's actually a website that you can go to for deregistering imessage. I had to do it when I'd swap Sims, before I decided to just stick with Samsung.
