I've been an Android guy forever but my wife is finally making the switch and will be going from an old iPhone SE to a Pixel 3A. Can anyone direct me to a link with step by step instructions on how to make this switch without losing any of her pics, contacts, emails etc?
Thanks

Create a Google/Gmail account if she doesn't have one already. You'll use this account for the steps below.

Pics?

Install Google Photosand let it backup all of the photos on the iPhone SE.

Contacts?

Make sure the iPhone contacts are being synced to iCloud. Login to iCloud from a desktop. Export the contacts as a vCard. Login to the Google account and go to contacts.google.com and import the vCard file.

Emails?

That should be in the cloud so logging into those email accounts should be enough.

I've never used them, but Wondershare is kind of notorious for sneaky advertising practices, so I would lean towards not trusting them.

Ok, I'm going to try it using the adapter that came with the phone, connect them together and follow the prompts.
Will backup the iPhone fist to google drive just in case

That's so awesome that she is making the switch! Let us know how she likes it!

Only been a couple days, she's still getting used to it. One of the main reasons for the switch was he old iphone SE really had a lousy camera, she always thought my P2XL or the 6P I had before took better pics, hers always looked kinda blury. Now that I think of it though, maybe her lens was dirty? :D

The photos produced by my own SE - which I should not myself describe as an old phone - are of first-class quality.

I want to point out that this is just my opinion and I’m not judging anyone else.....to me, people have been sucked in by phone manufacturers trying to milk every penny out of us with supposed better cameras adding hundreds of dollars to the cost of smartphones. Since when did everyone need to be a professional photographer?
It’s just like cars. They were invented to get us from point A to point B, not difficult. You can’t increase costs that much to a basic vehicle so you add outlandish extras like stereo systems Led Zeppelin would have been envious of. Smartphones are still just phones with apps, have been for years. Cameras just add to their profits.

Well if you take lotsa pictures the quality of them is probly important to you; my wife takes lotsa pictures.
It cost us a whole $325 Cdn for the 3A.
No one "sucked us in" to anything!

If you like to take pictures, the pixel devices do not disappoint. One of the things I have noticed lately is that when I go out with friends and family, I become the photographer. They have iPhones and samsungs respectively.

Another thing I noticed is when they post the pictures on social media, they are posting pics I took lol. Not bad for a mid range phone. Love my 3a.

In a vacuum, probably. But relative to the output of even the first gen Pixel, the iPhone SE doesn't even compare.

This was the case up until iPhone 11.

My wife is still on a Pixel 2 XL and all of her friends have an iPhone. It wasn't until a few got either the iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro that they stopped relying on her for pics.

The 3a is amazing! I was considering buying it - due to the camera and Not Pink colour. Glad you are loving it!

I don't know. I have been tempted by the Pixel cameras, but photography is not important enough to me to make me feel the need to change for that reason. Phone cameras reached a level of excellence several years ago and there is nothing about the SE's camera performance that leaves me unsatisfied. With a more recent phone, I might get a bit more detail or dynamic range etc., but...meh.

There's no comparison between pics taken on my pixel and picss from my wife's old SE, specially in low light conditions.

BTW, isn't there some kinda 'conflict of interest' that the "co-ambassador team lead" on an androidd forum uses an iphone? :)

No....there is no conflict of interest in what smart device you own.
