Ok folks, I'm contemplating a switch to Android EVO mostly because, like many of you, I can barely go a year before I'm jonesing for a new gadget/smartphone. I currently have an iPhone 32gig 3GS and am pretty happy with it. I live in CT so AT&T service is quite good here so that's not an issue.
I'm intrigued by the EVO for the following reasons: it's stunning first of all, camera seems awesome, video 720p record and playback w HDMI is amazing, I really love the Sense home screen and customizeable nature of the HTC devices (opposite of iPhone), as a sales person I think the way Sense groups all modes of communication by the person in your contacts rather than having to go in and out of each app (SMS, email, call log etc) seems valuable. Any other sales people find Sense to be a benefit and how? Sprint $69 Everything Data plan would save me $$$ although 4G is not yet available here but hopefully will be. Android OS with Sense seems great.

If anyone wants to address my concerns, especially if you've already switched from iPhone, they are as follows:
I am a heavy ipod user and the iTunes/iPhone environment is so smooth and easy at this point I'm reluctant to upset the apple cart. I do have an iPod touch i can use if I get rid of the iPhone though but I'd much rather have up to the 32gigs I have now and just have my music on my phone instead of dealing with 2 devices. Is it a pain to import all my iTunes music etc to an Android device? Is the Google calendar the only way calendars are dealt with on Android? I suppose that's fine but would love to have some more explanations as to why I would like that better, Currently I use Mac/iCal and Mobile Me to sync w iPhone.
Any other specific reasons why i should switch I'd be open to hearing. Thanks all.

You can sync google cal with ical, no worries there if thats what you use.
You can sync songs with itunes and double twist, but album are may be an issue
You only get an 8GB card, so that may be a downer for you. You can throw in a 16Gb reasonably priced, 32gb, ive heard doesn't play nicely, plus, its really slow
I like Sprint's service, you really can't go wrong with it on the Eastern Seaboard. Where I roamed with it was out west, where there was barely coverage for anyone. You will have to add in $10/month for using the Evo specifically, but its still less $$$ than an iPhone plan (plus, check to see if you can get a discount using your employer).
I can't help you on the Sales person opinion.

As far as syncing your music you can use Double Twist which works very well and shouldn't be too difficult to get up and running with your current library.

I don't store any media on my phone (Pre at the moment). Between Pandora, Orb, Grooveshark, etc., I don't need local media unless on a plane or no signal area, which isn't often - and some airlines now offer wifi. Love living in the cloud and saving local storage at same time.

Xenohon can you elaborate on the cloud part a bit? I have about 3500 songs on iTunes. Can i save those in the cloud somehow and then access them via wifi? How about 3G? Pandora etc are great but if I want to listen to MY playlist or a specific song I like having it all locally but since I'm not that versed on the cloud way of doing things I'm hoping you can enlighten me further. thanks

You can use Orb.com to setup a local media server and access your media that way, or just use Grooveshark.com, which tends to have most music out there. You can upload your music to Grooveshark cloud if they don't have it. They claim this is legal. I listen to very obscure stuff yet GS tends to have it already. Haven't had a need to upload music yet.

You need the Grooveshark client for Android. For Orb, it works with a web browser and launches local media player (on Pre, I assume on Android as well).

You can try it out now on iPhone or from a desktop computer.
