Ok folks, I'm contemplating a switch to Android EVO mostly because, like many of you, I can barely go a year before I'm jonesing for a new gadget/smartphone. I currently have an iPhone 32gig 3GS and am pretty happy with it. I live in CT so AT&T service is quite good here so that's not an issue.
I'm intrigued by the EVO for the following reasons: it's stunning first of all, camera seems awesome, video 720p record and playback w HDMI is amazing, I really love the Sense home screen and customizeable nature of the HTC devices (opposite of iPhone), as a sales person I think the way Sense groups all modes of communication by the person in your contacts rather than having to go in and out of each app (SMS, email, call log etc) seems valuable. Any other sales people find Sense to be a benefit and how? Sprint $69 Everything Data plan would save me $$$ although 4G is not yet available here but hopefully will be. Android OS with Sense seems great.
If anyone wants to address my concerns, especially if you've already switched from iPhone, they are as follows:
I am a heavy ipod user and the iTunes/iPhone environment is so smooth and easy at this point I'm reluctant to upset the apple cart. I do have an iPod touch i can use if I get rid of the iPhone though but I'd much rather have up to the 32gigs I have now and just have my music on my phone instead of dealing with 2 devices. Is it a pain to import all my iTunes music etc to an Android device? Is the Google calendar the only way calendars are dealt with on Android? I suppose that's fine but would love to have some more explanations as to why I would like that better, Currently I use Mac/iCal and Mobile Me to sync w iPhone.
Any other specific reasons why i should switch I'd be open to hearing. Thanks all.
