Iphone updates beware!

If they give you trouble about it start asking about terminating your account and even mention the word Verizon, that usually gets them to bend for you a bit, worked for me in the past.

99.9 % of reps will just tell you your termination fee. Especially if you are an Iphone users a lot of reps could care less because we dont make money off that phone at all.

When i went to at&t they said i could keep my unlimited data plan i used i also used one of my family members upgrade i had an iphone 3g

probably won't be going back to radio shack. The guy took forever and had no idea what he was doing. Changed me to the 2gb plan, so had to call AT&T when I got home. They opened a case which I never heard anything on. I went to Best Buy to get a few things and ended up speaking with the Mobile Phone dept. and they called AT&T and got it all straightened out in 2 min. Won't be going back to RS ever again! I'm surprised they are even still in biz but from now on, BB is getting my mobile biz.

I have talked to 2 different people yesterday and today and got different responses. Who knows what they'll do to us "iphone data" users once we switch. Next time you talk to someone that tells you that, ask from someone else. I upgraded to the inspire from an iPhone 3gs w/ unlimited iPhone data plan, and I was able to keep my unlimited data for the Inspire (the feature now just reads 'Data-Unlimited' on my bill now). The only downside to keeping your unlimited data feature is that you won't be able to use your phone as a wifi hotspot (at least not using AT&T's wifi feature)

When I upgraded last week from my 3gs I was able to keep my unlimited data. Make sure you talk to someone who know what they are talking about. Trust me, in a matter of 30 minutes I went from iPhone to HTC Inspire with not plan changes.

This is simply not true. I am an assistant manager of an At&t corporate store. You are grandfathered into the unlimited data plan. My advise, upgrade in a store, not online.

Right, no "new" data plans are unlimited. But if you had the unlimited smart phone data prior to June 7th of 2010, no matter how many times you change your device as long as you stay with a smartphone you will continue to be able to have the unlimited data plan on your smartphone. If any place tells you different, they are incorrect. I work for at&t and know this for a 100% fact.

I just bought my Inspire last week coming from an iPhone 4 and they said that when they brought it live on the new phone it disappeared. I flipped out and said an unlimited data plan is just that does not matter on the phone. They made a call and had it right back on. Now my account shows my plan and has an iPhone unlimited data still on it.

Hi all, new Android user here. Coming from an iPhone 3G I upgraded to Samsung Focus (WP7) immediately checked my data I was downgraded to the 2gb data plan, made a call to ATT and they said I have to upgrade to an iPhone 3GS or 4 to get the unlimited back, I said no way I'm getting another iPhone. Few days later I took my wife to BB and she fell in love with the HTC Inspire 4G, upgraded her iPhone 3G and while waiting to get hers activated I ask the ATT rep about my case and he said I should be able to keep my unlimited data back. Following day I called ATT back and the rep was so helpful and wrote a resolution case, in just a few days I got my unlimited back. Returned my Samsung Focus and I too got me the HTC Inspire.

They did this to me and when I called them they said no way I should have kept unlimited data. They put me on the 200MB plan when I switched and when I talked to them when I got the phone in the mail they fixed it back to unlimited with a big appology.

check the threads here: Inspire 4G General - xda-developers lots of them, call them back, remind them the employee who set up phone up has f-ed up and switched it to the wrong plan. the DATA plans are data plans no matter which phone you have.

I went from an iphone4 to htc inspire, spent the better half of 2 hours watching the rep on the phone with his people to make sure my unlimited package stays since i am grandfathered into that plan.
