iPhone user here. Should I go with a cheap phone or the best?

I have been a long time fan of the iPhone, (I'm talking iPhone 3G) but recently I have been fed up with Apple. My question is should I buy a cheap phone like the Moto Z for $200? or shell out $600 for something like the Pixel? I've played with my wife's Samsung Note 3 before and wasn't too impressed. And TouchWiz seemed like something out of a cartoon? FYI was kind of fascinated with the new BlackBerry, but the company has gone down hill?
I would apprecate any feed back?

iPhone has fewer features less than android but whatever it has is enough to beat his competition. I don't think you can compare any android phone with apple iphone because evryone has android phone and the features in 15k android phone and 45 k android phone are same if you exclude camera and special features of the phone but when we talk about iphone the things are diffrent.

Well for one thing, you shouldn't take into account how the phone looks like.. It can vary with Androids because you can change the icons. I agree I hate the old Samsung icons, but I am personally liking the new S8 ones. Last week though I was using the Pixel Icons. Plus using Nova launcher I made my device launch apps via gestures.

As for phone advice, the Moto Z should do fine, just remember that it won't be as good as the flagships. Majority of the features are there but will load slower and and stuff like that. Plus the battery on the Z is pretty small, even for most higher end Androids, so you'll still end up buying a Moto battery mod, so you'll end up closer to $300.

Do you want it brand new or are you fine with used?

In order to recommend something we need to know what your expectations are or what features you desire most.

Who's your carrier, what's your budget, and what are you going the phone for?? Music, lots of pictures,etc...The beauty of Android, lots of choices. You can get a brand new Tmobil Revvl for $125 or you can spend up to $800 with a Samsung S8+.

I've always used Samsungs - but I've never used the TouchWiz launcher - I can't stand it. One of the first things I do with a new phone is install Nova Launcher. There are also launchers that look like iPhones. That's one thing with Android - there's almost no app that you're stuck with - if you don't like it, choose a different app for the same function.

(And once you switch, if you do, be certain that you remove your number from iMessage, or your Android phone will never receive a text. Androids use SMS, not iMessage, which is proprietary to Apple - they won't let anyone else use the iMessage protocol.)

(And if you really want to get expensive, wait for the Note 8 - it should run just around $1,000.)

Yes...as someone who uses both on a daily basis I agree that Iphone is far better than Android so I stay as far from it as I can.

This is a subjective argument. I have used iPhones before off and on and every time I do, I want to throw it against a wall. But again, that's my opinion of it.

iPhones are great - if you don't want to change much. But if you want the phone to work the way you want it to (including a completely different ROM), not the way the manufacturer wants it to, you're very limited to what you can change in an iPhone.

Some people like simplicity, some like control.

1.I don't care about camera quality.
2.what I care about most is being able to use the phone hands-free. like using Siri without having to take out my phone and press somthing to wake it up.
3. resolution is big. And being able to see the screen in daylight with no glare if possible
4. of course speed.
5. these are the main that I can think of off hand. Thank you for your guy's help. much appreciated

I'm running the Developer beta for IOS11, It's ugly and the new features have made me want to throw out my phone and Siri sucks. Android assist is far better I can't wait to play with android

With no budget restrictions, I would go for the Pixel.

The old touchwiz with the blue/green color scheme never did look that good, who knows what Samsung was thinking. The Note 3 had great software, but it looked silly.

It depends what you want out of your phone. Android runs smooth on most handsets, and the $200 options are plenty for most people. If you want/need more storage for apps, want a great camera, the best possible performance, or some more advanced features like wireless charging and water resistance you need to spend more.

Buying an Android is kind of like buying a computer, the basics are plenty for most people, but there are more powerful and expensive devices available for those who need or desire it.

You will be more than happy with an LG G6 or Samsung Galaxy S8 right now. If you can wait a little, you can wait for the LG V30, Note 8, or Pixel 2.

Get the best hardware you can afford or are willing to pay for. The Android experience gets better exponentially as you go up the hardware food chain.
