iPhone User, Thinking of crossing over

Just a quick update. I'm currently using swipe on the used HTC One m7 I bought used from Swappa. I decided to play around with the old model for the summer to see if Android is my jam. There are things I love like my messenger (evolvesms) which is pretty and has quick reply. The only thing I really don't like is the hassle of having to upload videos to YouTube or Dropbox to let people see quality resolution. Also, unfortunately my friends with iPhone may or may not be able to send me a group message. Half of them send as imessage until they delete my contact and restart their phone. If anyone knows a better way, let me know. :)

So there's the update. I'll play with this for the summer, and decide in September.

I have owned iPhones and absolutely prefer the Android OS, especially on a phone. I recommend giving it a go.
I currently own an M8, and while it's great Android device, the build quality is inconsistent and I can't say if it's the best Android option out there. HTC Sense 6 is great, thought. My favorite manufacturer skin out of all that I've tried.

If the camera *is* really important to you, you may want to check out the Samsung Galaxy phones.

Regarding the whole iMessage thing, you can always just use Google Hangouts. On Android, it's practically built into the device and easy to use... But it's also available for use on iOS devices. The only thing Hangouts can't do like iMessage is do group conversations with SMS and Google accounts at the same time...this isn't a small thing, I admit, but otherwise it's a solid alternative

Hangouts main issue for me is the lack of a desktop client for OS X and Windows. Using the web interface is not an option for many of my contacts, and I also don't want to use it. I wish Google understands that a desktop client is needed..

iMessage, Facetime & Camera. I truly miss those. Hangouts is nice, no one uses it so it is useless. I enjoy every else about about Android and my Moto X, the apps aren?t as polished as on iOS but they don?t bother me really. I love the Gmail app, I love the Notifications menu, I love Google integration and Google Now.

But this fall I expect to upgrade to the new iPhone if it has a bigger screen.
