I get you perfectly fine. I can judge the X perfectly fine without using it. I know exactly how the Note 8 works and feels on a day to day basis. I draw comparisons off of that. I also know what an OLED screen looks like and the Note 8 is just as good. I also know that the gesture based navigation on the X is not as intuitive as Apple would purport it to be. It borrows from WebOS and the Palm Pre I used to own. I know that Face ID works for the most part but I prefer the speed and simplicity of a good ole fingerprint scanner. I know that as an adult I'd never use face animojis, I have consistently seen how the X is no smoother, faster or snappier than the Note 8. I am aware that Apple's ecosystem is a good one but Google/Samsung's treats me just fine. I can take anecdotal and empirical evidence and CERTAINLY pass judgement on anything, specifically a phone and back that up by not investing my dollars in a piece of kit that is something new to diehard Apple fans but that makes this tech fan yawn. Oh and subjectively speaking? That top notch is ugly, and intrusive as hell.Didn't say Apple does everything better. I'm not interested in the iPhone, hence why I don't buy them. Just made the point that:
1: You can't pass judgement on a phone you haven't used. Otherwise websites would post reviews of phones the moment they're announced without having touched them.
2. Trying to compare phones by going down a list of features and declaring one better (especially when having not used one of the phones) is ridiculous.
3. The only way to know which phone is better is if you use both phones for a period of time and look at them holistically, not under a microscope of features.
Seems like you don't get that.
Care to share any more pearls of wisdom fellow Note 8 'fan'?
