Both the built in Samsung and Google Music Play apps are horrid. One of the ONLY areas where I miss my old iPhone days. I'm just looking for a nice, clean music app to play the songs in my library. I do want one that will stream song metadata via BT to my truck stereo.

Don't need lots of bells and whistles like visualizers, equalizers, internet radio channels, etc. Any suggestions? Thx in advance.

Not sure about the metadata via BT, but usually doubleTwist is considered to be the "iTunes" of Android, so that might be what you're looking for. Other popular ones are PowerAmp and, of course, WinAmp.

PS: I don't find the Samsung player horrid, but I don't use it either. I just go with Spotify (Google Music is not yet available in my country)

Will check out doubletwist. Just don't find the ones already on the device to be very intuitive with user friendly interfaces. But like you, I'm on Pandora mostly. Mainly use stored songs when kids are with me.

Other recommendations still welcomed. Thanks!

Check out Shuttle and Shuttle+. I however do prefer PowerAmp.

I had the same problem when I moved from an iPhone to Android. I used doubleTwist for a while cause it was similar to iPod interface but ultimately switched over to Poweramp and it's been great so far. It took me a week or so to develop new (muscle) memory for using poweramp but now I prefer it.

I use Poweramp to listen to music stored on my phone. When I connect to my BT head unit in my car, it comes up as the default player. Great app, but the interface takes some getting used to. Tried DoubleTwist and several other players, but Poweramp has become my go to player. Hope this helps.
