I really want the ONE X but I'm not sure 16gb will be enough. I know you get more storage through Dropbox but still. Will Dropbox be integrated? Is there an option to automatically store my photos that I take with my camera in my Dropbox storage? Will I have a full 16gb of storage internally or will the system take a few GB to run? Someone please convince me that the ONE X is the ONE.

I don't store anything on my phone anymore...Google Music for tunes...Ggogle+ for auto upload of pics...storage space is a non issue for me nowadays.

ICS and Sense takes up a few GBs leaving you with 10GB usable

A flagship HTC handset with Sense 4, you can't go wrong with the HTC One X. Stock ICS is decent, can't beat sense so galaxy nexus isnt the one. Can't stand touchwiz so galaxy S3 isnt the one. no experience with razr but I doubt that it could beat the HTC One X.

Personally that's not enough for me. Coming from a GNex I would hate having to manage things going to the SD card and then their icons loading slow whenever rebooting.

So is that 2GB of App storage deducted from the 16GB as well? Or is that a separate 2GB?
im kinda pissed about this the only response i get from htc is that i can buy the evo 4g lte that has sd card support i don't want to be on sprint's slow 3g network i want to run on at&t fast lte where i live we have lte htc dropped the ball on this device this an amazing phone it looks so nice and the specs are great there is no way i could survive even 2 months on 2gb of storage for games and apps that is crazy.google needs to have a cloud storage so on devices such as the one x we can store them on the cloud in order to play with them I'm really bummed about this cause i really wanted this phone bad but no sd card support means a NO BUY in my book looks like I'm getting the s3
I think it's definitely NOT enough. My current phone (Epic 4G) is ALWAYS full. I always have to move stuff to my 32GB SD card and even THAT is currently full. I don't buy into this cloud storage crap. There is a reason why the iPhone 4S has a 64GB option, 32GB option, and the LOWEST is 16GB. That's right. 16GB is their low tier garbage option.

I was considering switching from Sprint to AT&T to get this phone because the EVO version is ugly as ... but I don't think that's an option if 10GB of usable storage is all I will get.

The same problem is for Samsung Galaxy Note (the International version). From 16GB storage I get only 2 gigs for the apps and 12 for music and other stuff. Tomorrow I'll be buying a 32GB miscoSD because without it I'm stuck with only a few programs and games.
Maybe the whole idea behind the 16GB phones (and of couse the lower versions) is to spent more money on microSD cards, because if all the phones were with 64GB+ no one was gonna buy their storage cards.

I think the whole idea behind 16gb phones is speed and cost. There are 32gb models out there just not here in the states unless you import (which does suck but that is a whole other discussion). I totally understand where people are coming from when they say 16 gigs is not enough once you take out the system and app storage but honestly it is not unusable.
I used to rock full 32gb SD cards and full on board storage with everything I could ever want to watch, listen to, or read. But when I made the switch to a smaller phone I found that I did not miss any of the space. Granted with out something like google music I would be in serious trouble but even in that case most of what I listen to at any one give time is not more than 4 gigs total. Most of the apps I use are smaller apps that if they require space it is for storage of files and such rated to the apps and not the apps them selves and those files reside perfectly fine on the cloud and on various hard drives of mine. As for the games well I only play a few at a time and then remove them these days rather than having thirty apps I never touch.
To each their own really and while I would gladly welcome more space and bigger batteries there is nothing wrong with learning to live and love a world with smaller storage and slimmer phones it just takes some adjustments but it is not for everyone.

I'm with "Valdeck". Personally, I've found that I don't install thousands of apps every day like I might've when I first got my new phone. On the atrix I currently have, which came out at the end of Feb. 2011, there are only 2 gigs of app storage space. I looked recently, and I was using 1.1 GB of it. This is after a full YEAR of owning the phone already. Basically using only 50% of what I had available to me. And when I open my app drawer, I think "Wow, I have a lot of apps". I can't believe people use more than 2GB's worth of apps. I know what it is - it's got to be gaming. Games take up a -ton of space, guys. I have about 15-20 games on my device. Some of them are gigantic, others are just large. What Valdeck mentioned makes a lot of sense to me - I seriously doubt you play every game on your device - I'd be willing to bet you have installed a game that you never play anymore - it's been over 6 months since you last opened it - yet you still keep it.
I think that if you watch that kind of stuff, use Google+ instant upload for the photos (or dropbox), and use a music cloud service such as Google Music or one of the other options, you'll be just fine. And then you get fast AT&T LTE if a tower pops up near you while owning the phone. You also get delicious Tegra 3 yumminess (which believe me, is great coming from my Prime). Or, if you absolutely need more storage space on the device itself - opt for the international version!

The X for ATT has 9.7 GB of available storage (after apps and sense). This is paltry. A movie will run you 1.5-2gb.
For the app storage, 2 GB should be more than enough. I have 96 apps on my GS2 (2 gb) and I still have 1.1 available. Most graphic intensive apps store thier data to the internal storage.

Someone in another threaded pointed me in the direction of Google Music which I had no idea about. That together with Dropbox might make managing that 9-10GB of space a lot easier.

Honestly I am fine with people wanting a lot of space on their phones I typically would agree. I found in my case that it really was more of a case that I was looking at my phone as the device that contained my life and as such had to hold everything I could ever need and everything I ever did with it (like pictures and videos). Also I found that the major space taker was videos that I had so I could watch if I wanted to but I found I either never watched them and defaulted to games or got to tired of ripping and copying everything.When I started going with phones with smaller space I found that I started looking at my phone as a phone and a tool for my life weather that is work or games or whatever and not the container of my life I needed much less storage. A great example of this is my mother and my girlfriend. They both have filled up their 32gb iPhones solid with photos all the way back from two years ago (in my moms case). They never seem to have time to copy them to a computer or back them up or anything.
There is nothing wrong with that but honestly while the specs of a phone should last you a year or two the space probably should not. I mean after all we all live big lives and will take way more than 32 gb to hold anyway.

I travel alot for business which means Im on airplanes all the time. No data connection on airplanes. Plus, streaming costs you data usage so I dont think its a great option.

With Google Music I make a playlist ahead of time and "pin" it to my device making it available offline. This can be done on WiFi to avoid data use. Then it can be unpinned later. Basically it's a matter of managing what you NEED to be storing on your device at any given time.
For plane rides, throw on it what you think you'll use for that one in particular, then take it off after. I can't imagine you needed 10GB of media on your phone for a plane ride. But. Everyone is different.

I fully admit some people have more media of some kind that they need or want total access to than I do. And I used to carry around gigs and gigs worth but I guess my attitude changed over the last year or two and now I just move what I need or keep it in the cloud and download it until I am done with it.
The solution does not work for everyone and honestly it never will. There are plenty of things I hate the idea of putting in the cloud and plenty of things I liked better before they tried to change it for various reasons so your not alone
I do hope you can find the phone you like however I would imagine your odds are pretty slim or at least your odds will be slim going forward. It seems like non removable batteries are where companies are headed which means in many cases non removable storage. But this is android and I am sure there will always be one or two top tier phones with removable storage or bigger on board storage. Maybe the SGIII will be that phone.

If you can swing the high cost, you can buy the international version which has 32 gb. I dont think HTC is responsible for the 16gb though, this has ATT's stench written all over it. The battery should have been bigger though that is all HTC.
