Is 2.1 quicker?

Will the new Android update 2.1 make the phone quicker and less laggy?

I hope so! My phone has been really laggy lately. Although it could be the GDE themer I have. But even before that I was noticing a little more lag than normal as of lately.

Yeah, exactly why I'm wondering/hoping that 2.1 is faster. I'm assuming it will be, as every leaked review of Android 2.1 has said it runs much faster, so hopefully they're true. Rumors point to this Friday for the update, so hopefully we won't be speculating for too long.

I agree, much more efficient, no lag, nothing beats it. Been using the custom rom for a week now and won't go back to 1.5 again.

Don't expect stock to be that fast guys. I worked with Damagless a bit and he has really customized things.

But stock will be that fast about 20 minutes after we get it I'll bet lol.

Fabulous! You and Damagless did an incredible job. Much appreciated. I cannot wait to see what's in store when you guys get your hands on the actual Sprint ROM.

FWIW, I decided to compare 1.5 and 2.1 using flipz roms, first Fresh 1.1 then Fresh 2.0b2. It was night and day, the 2.1 ROM was blazing fast!

I'm hoping that this is the case. I haven't dabbled into custom ROMs yet, but I have to imagine that there is always a possibility that the Sprint (or other carrier for that matter) 2.1 ROM that is put out there might not be as efficient as the other ones. I figure I'm going to wait and see if it might get a little better with the stock Sprint ROM.

Are there any other carriers that have the 2.1 OS installed already that isn't custom? Was there any areas of improvement?
