Is $200 a good price for a used AT&T Locked S4?

Re: Is $200 a good price for a used AT&T Locked S5?

Buying from craigslist is NOT the safest way, Ebay and purchasing through paypal is.

If you don't mind getting ripped off. You sit in front of your computer and win a stolen cell phone that you likely may not get your money back once you find out you just got ripped off..

You can get mugged for your money just going to meet the person.
Unless they actually meet you first time at the store location but even that's a BIG if they meet you.
You could just be wasting your time with craiglisters.

If they are a no-show you then know it was not legit...

If you do it right you won't get mugged. I've been buying and selling on Craigslist for years now and have never been mugged..

Ebay and Amazon all they way, plus you are protected by your debit or bank card either way.

eBay NO!!!! Amazon: if you buy from a seller on Amazon you are just as likely to buy a stolen phone..

There have been a number of posters here on this forum just in the last year who have been ripped off by so called reputable cell phone sellers on eBay and Amazon..as well as Swappa...my neighbor got ripped by them not once but twice....

The only sure way to find if the phone is legit before paying a dime is to meet at a carrier store locally and let them check it to see if it can be activated..

Doesn't ebay offer buyer protection and swappa guarantee the phone is out of payment plan by checking IMEI?
Glyde is also another good place.

With any phone, any seller, anywhere, when you buy a used phone, it is nearly impossible to guarantee that phone will not be blocked after 6 months or 8 months or god knows when.
The only way to avoid is to buy unlocked phone that is not tied to a carrier, alternative is to buy an unlocked phone of X carrier and use it with Z carrier.

I've sold a lot of stuff on Craigslist. A lot. I pride myself on being the kind of seller most would be happy to buy from again and again and I'm not the exception, special, or anything. Most people are not out to scam you or do shadyness. Some may be but the vast majority are not.

Be smart and meet the seller/buyer in a very public place or carrier store. Out of all the things I've sold I've never had a bad experience.

♻from the Note 4 ??????

Being an honest seller on there is one thing but buying from there is another.
I have sold over 20k on CL and I am honest about it. I have also got screw by a seller on a vehicle.

I wouldn't buy phones from there.

Wow, there is no way you can find an S4 for $100-$150 tops and in good condition. I've been looking, no way, especially from sellers you mentioned since there are fees involved. If you find one on ebay or amazon, please let me know...... If you said S3, MAYBE, but S4 market is now at $175 to $225 depending on condition and I believe that's a fair price.

The reason CL is attractive, there are no fees, and of course no guarantee either, that's why prices are low and it's all cash.
I think CL is pretty safe depending on where you live and do the transaction but with anything over $100 you run the risk of being mugged, yes that is very real.

Here's one for $130 Samsung Galaxy s 4 SCH I545 16GB Black Mist Verizon Smartphone 887276984575 | eBay
You said if I found one right? I already know what you will say but it is under $150 =]

Here's one in better condition but for $175 Samsung Galaxy s 4 GT I9500 16GB Purple Mirage Sprint Bad ESN 100 Condition | eBay

How do you get ripped off on Ebay and Amazon?? LOL
I have never had a problem with all the sellers on either of those sites and have always got replacements without returning the original product and have got my money back for things 6 months after purchase.
Plus you are covered with the cards you use and buyer protection.
Unless you buy some stolen gift cards from someone on CL and then its kind of hard to get your money back and if you do it would take longer.

I have been selling on CL for over 12 years and have made a lot of money well over 20k.

You can buy a phone from someone on CL and meet them at the carrier but your best bet on on Ebay and Amazon.
If its not what they say it is then you are covered no matter what.

eBay does offer buyer protection but the hassle of trying to get your money back plus there have been buyers who were unable because they did not follow rules.. Swappa has a track record of selling stolen phones. Many of their phones come from the street corner cell phone buyer... They claim to check all phones but the claim is untrue..

This is true and why I will only buy new from the carrier.. I've never bought a used phone and never will..

Re: Is $200 a good price for a used AT&T Locked S5?

Price seems ok for S4 if it's in good condition. I'd rather use Swappa or Glyde to buy a used phone.

I bought one from Glyde, perfectly nice device, I don't remember the condition I bought it, but it was really good.

How about Glyde? I think they are pretty good, I wonder if they offer unconditional guarantee on devices they sell.

Since I won't buy a used phone I can't say it they are trustworthy but buying used from anybody is taking a huge chance...
