I bought the 64gb Google Nexus 6.
I didn't want to run short.
I loaded everything I had on my Note2 and a bunch of music, and I still have 32gb. I probably could have gotten by with the 32, but on sale the 64gb was only $50 more.

The most I have had on my last 2 phones was about 18GB data. 32 has been fine for me.

Ditto. I never actually store much of anything on a phone, unless it's something I've forgotten about; I've got too many other options that I know I can't misplace or lose.

My work uses Google apps and drive so all my work documents and spreadsheets are in drive. I have music and pics both on my phone and in the cloud. I usually stream shows and movies over amazon prime or sling or Google play so I don't store that stuff on my phone. I use my Nexus 6 more than any device including my laptop. I just have grown used to storing off my device so things can be accessed from any device. So as I said before, 32 GB is more than enough for how I do my computing and media.

I have about 2300 high quality songs on my Verizon 32 GB. That leaves me only about 4 GB of space. If Verizon had offered a 64 GB I would have gotten it. I don't want the hassle with Verizon to use a non-Verizon device. If I need the space it is an easy fix for me to move the music off using DoubleTwist with AirSync.

I have managed to fill my 64GB phone with nandroid backups and had to move some to an OTG drive. Thankfully I already have a 128GB card that I used for my Note 3 for the same reason.

I sprung for the 64GB version, but so far haven't used even half of that, so 32GB would probably have been fine.

32 gb is plenty of space for me. I stream my music and video content and don't play games. The biggest use of my storage is pictures but I have them being backed up to Drive and Dropbox so I can delete them from the device when I need to.

The only time I start to get tight on space is if I carry an extra ROM loaded as a secondary in MultiROM. Then space starts to get down around 3 or 4G free. But normally, with a ton of apps and crap stored, I'm 13 or 14G... That's enough to put me in the "no worries" stage.

The phone has about 25G of space available for user content. That's a LOT.... Yes, if you pound it full of 1g games like Hearthstone, or decide to carry around a 20G music collection, or a bunch of HD movie files, I can see where you might have issues. But I would think that is a relatively uncommon use case.

When I'm traveling and load up movies I find it to be a little thin, otherwise o normally have over 20GB free.

I've had no space issues with 32 gigs. But on the few occasions I've been on long trips where I wasn't driving, I have one of these:

More than enough for me. I uploaded all of my music to Google Music and stream it. Even my pics are in the cloud. I don't see a need to keep everything on my phone.

My N6 is 32GB. I have just over 23 gig free and have all the stuff I need on it.
I store the vast majority of my "stuff" on Google Drive and most of my music is stored on Play Music. I had a 64 gig iPhone 5 but never used more than 10 or 12 gig.

Both my N5 and my N6 are 32 gigs. Plenty of room for pictures and videos, and my music. Works for me, but your mileage may very.
