Is 32gb enough?

Well, I've been waiting and watching the Nexus 6 on Amazon and had a 64gb Midnight Blue in my cart to order tomorrow. I look on Amazon tonight and the 64gb Midnight Blue has a notice that says "Item under review", so now I can't order it. I'm a little upset, because I ordered a couple cases and a screen protector already, one of which came delivered today.

The white does not have this notice and I guess I can still order that, but the white is ugly to me. I know it's covered by a case, just don't like it. Also know the front is black. That I'm considering, but I can't find a new Nexus 64gb anywhere now, even on ebay. Only the google store. I don't want to pay the same as a 6P, so unless I get a 32gb, I'll probably return the cases and screen protector to get the 6P. I know either phone would be nice, but I really liked the big screen on the N6.

How much space is left on the device after the OS when you get the phone out of the box on a 32gb? I use a lot of apps and I can use cloud storage if I have to. I like to have my music with me and I take a lot of pics also.

I probably have about 10gb left after I have everything loaded up, though I don't have a lot of music with me. I do have a lot of apps that I don't use that take up a little more memory than others, and I keep all my pics on Google Photos for the most part.
32 - all of that =~ 31 i believe, probably a little more, since there's not a lot of extra pre-installed stuff on there.
I'd say 32 is fine, but you can get a cheap OTG flash drive if you want :)

I have 25.6GB out of the box. I use 8gb for my music, 4gb for apps (that probably includes 1GB of podcast), 2GB for cache. I take a lot of photos but I use Google photo, so I can easily delete the photos on the device.

If I had the 64Gb instead of the 32, I would probably download more music for offline playing. That's about it I think for me.

Right now I have about 10Gb left over.

Do you have an Android device now? If so, how much storage do you have? If you have a 32GB device or less, odds are the 32GB N6 would be fine. Yes, video and photos will take up more room, but with the updated Photos app having the option to delete off of the device those that have been sync'd, that's a non-issue. I went from the 32GB N5 to the 32GB N6 and have had no issues whatsoever. I don't need to keep every game, etc, I might ever want to play on at a time, and usually just keep a couple of games/movies/etc that I anticipate using, managing the cloud for the rest (and have a ton of stuff on a USB stick if I ever find myself in dire boredom).

Just thought I'd chime in a bit. Have you tried swappa? I just bought a 64gb version yesterday.

Got the 64gb for a extra $50 but it is not worth it. I used a Nexus 5 with only 16gb of storage and I was fine. Except for 3gb of my own music ripped from CD's at 192k AAC, a few music podcasts and a few photos I take with the phone everything else is online on the cloud, big photos, video files etc and I also streaming music.

I have a 32gb and its fine for me. I use prime music and have a few movies on it. I don't keep all my music on my device, every so often it's out with the old and in with the new.

Well, I could have gone with a 32gb, and probably would have gotten one, but the Notice on Amazon wasn't there this morning. I called and they said all was okay, but didn't give me an answer as to why the Item was under review. So I ordered a 64gb Midnight Blue and hoping to get in a couple days. Just trying to decide whether to leave ATT for Project Fi or not.

I have always had 32gb phones, hated my Note 8 with only 16gb, because it blew through that storage quickly. I will have to try the google photos app, as I've always used Gallery on my Samsung phones. I also bought Chromecast recently so interested to see how it works with the N6. I'm glad I'm trying this phone first, because odds are I will be loving it and keeping it.

Google Photos now has the option to delete your photos after they're backed up, a great way of saving storage.

As for white, you could have always dbranded it ;)

32 GB has always been enough for me. But I think I'll jump to 64 GB on the next phone.

Depends on what you do with it.

32GB is actually quite a lot for normal use.
If you have a decent data allowance / are never that far away from wifi there's no need to keep 10's of gigabytes of music, video and photos locally.

I went for 64 because I have a games controller and like to have a good selection of AAA games on there but actually I'm not using any of the extra space.

The 32GB model gets the job done for me. I don't do much storing on my device itself as I have a "unlimited" data plan. But even If I didn't I don't use much data nor store much files. :)
