Is 40-80 battery rule is really what I need to worry about?

I mean using only 40% battery is hard for me,I'm not a guy who stays on a laptop or pc more than a mobile. I charge my phone 2-3 times a day. I use it for gaming, utube, browsing,or whatever. I understand that now 40-80 battery rule is true. But is it whqt I need to worry about? Can i just do 30-80 or 20-80 or 40-90? I dont usr my own money to buy my phones.

Yes, as I understand it, staying within the 40%-80% range has been scientifically assessed as the best way to maximise battery performance over time, and the more you depart from that, the worse your battery will be; but of course we’re all free to do things as we choose. It’s a qualified freedom, since there is an ethical dimension to it, related to waste and responsible use of natural resources etc.

What phone do you have?

I've never read much about it beyond that's what is suggested. So if you do that what's the difference? Instead of lasting for 2 years it'll last for 2 years 2 months?

If you have a removable battery, don't mind replacing or paying someone to replace a sealed battery, or keep your phones a year or less, then you don't need to worry much about it. Otherwise it will be of concern. This is a good article on the general guidelines based on test results.

That site in general is a wealth of information for battery care. The 40-80% rule is the accepted guideline for phones to balance out overall life with time between charges. You could let it go to 30% and maybe even 25% without losing much overall life. Below that, and the chemical breakdown really speeds up. Charging above 80% isn't as bad as deep discharging, but it will start accelerating wear.

For most users, 40-80% is ideal. Power users like you will need to consider possibly making a compromise. Either accept that you'll have to charge more often, or run longer cycles and accept the hit on overall battery life.

Or install Magisk, not so much for rooting as for being able to run Magisk Charge Switch (which you'll find in Magisk when you run it) to set the charge limits to 80 40. Then use the phone with the charger plugged in and it will charge when it hits 40%, and it will stop charging when it hits 80%. If you're on the phone all day, keeping it plugged in (assuming you're not watching YouTube and browsing while you're walking around in the street) keeping it plugged, and knowing that it won't exceed the best parameters in either direction is probably the best way of keeping the battery going as long as possible. (And it's free, aside from the pennies for the electricity.)

Is magisk as dengerous as root? Wil it not give me android one updates like root? Does it mess up my phone with the possibility of bricking and being more vurenable?
