Is anyone else hoping that Google gets rid of OLED displays?

Nope, I had an LG G6 after my GS7 and I couldn't wait to go back to OLED. Love the Samsung OLED screen on my Pixel 2. So much brighter and vibrant than the LCD on the G6

nope. love oled. want one for a TV but way to expensive still. never had an issue with burn in but I almost always have my brightness at 50/60% ..only times I ever see people with burn in issues are those who have their brightness up and long time out set.

I have never had burn in on any device I have owned. And my 2xl looks great I purchased second hand.

I've never had any problem with OLED.
But I thought the regular 2's screen was made by HTC

Personally I've used LED screens since 2012, no burn in for me. Worked at Verizon full time from 2012 to 2016, only saw a few phones with burn in, usually long past warranty expired. Some of our displays developed burn in, but it took months of being on 24/7 max screen brightness to show up.

Either your unlucky to have it happen to multiple phones, or it's your usage pattern.

I think LG is prepared this year. Last year's misstep early with the 2XL will be put behind us and the panels will be exceptional with the P 3 series.

While they certainly are vibrant, OLEDs also have almost always resulted in burn in for me. I RMAed by first Pixel XL, and my first Pixel 2 XL as well. Since we're so close to the Pixel 3 release, I'm dealing with it, but it shouldn't even be a problem on a $1K+ phone.

The phone doesn't seem to be the problem.
