Is anyone still keeping their V20?

I'd ask those that frequent this board - any suggestions for a good, replacement battery based on any recent ones that you've purchased?

Amazon still has the official and authentic LG battery kit. That's where I got one of mines.

Can you post the seller's link and thanks.

I've bought overstock authentic V20 batteries from liquidators too on eBay, one of them brand new. However, I stumbled across a fake one too. The fake one fits very snug, doesn't hold a charge for long, and the printing looks off compared to the original. Sometimes the seller doesn't know either, but good thing with eBay is you always get your money back if anything.

S8+ is a faster phone and it is a very nice display for video playback.

The V20 has some nice features that the S8+ does not have. Removable battery, Quad DAC, 2nd screen. It's a different experience.

I've had a S8 Plus for 6 months, the pros/cons versus V20 are:

Pros:

The screen is amazing and breathtaking. The resolution is awesome due to pixel density. It's that retina display and more. Colors are on the money too. Every time I look at the screen, especially versus other phones, it generates a 'wow' display. Both text and pictures.

It's fast.

Cons:

18.5:9 ratio. Prefer 16:9 of V20.
Curved edges, what a dumb idea. Again prefer V20.
Non-removable battery. Again, V20 wins here totally.

My upgrade path was:

LG Optimus G Pro --> LG V10 --> Samsung Note 4 ---> Samsung S8 Plus + Samsung Note 4 (2nd one) --> (future) LG V20

Yes, I am replacing Samsung S8 Plus with LG V20

S8 Plus is not worth the funds they want for it and V20 most definitely is.

I'm using my V20 as a daily some weeks. I love both phones.

Sadly, No. I just retired my V20 yesterday. I really wanted to like it and in many ways I do. I've always been a huge advocate for the expandable storage and swappable batteries.

The audio features of the V20 were stellar but the speakers were total crap.

The camera was fantastic and had so many features.

But... the screen... the beautiful bright screen started to develop some permanent burn in on mine. I've also had blueTooth connectivity issues with mine since day one including the replacement that verizon sent me. The sound over my Infiniti's hands free setup was just terrible---to the point of being useless. I had similar problems in my wife's 2018 outback. But... other phones that I would switch between were fine.

And... after doing a hard reset/FDR and going with just the apps I need, battery life on a single charge would give me about 10 hours at best with about 2.5hrs SOT before I'd have to swap or plug in. Things started to slow down quite a bit too.

The clincher is LG's lack of future OS updates. Yes, there are rumors that we might get oreo, but this is a top tier phone that SHOULD get it, no questions about it.

So, I've actually taken a bit of a step backwards and got a great deal on a refurbished 128GB Pixel XL, (the "OG" not the 2" and I have to say I am quite surprised with it. It is fast, much faster side by side with my V20 after a FDR. I went the entire day today on a single charge, 3 hrs SOT, several calls, dozens of texts and emails and I am at 56% after 15 hours! I'd be less than that on my second battery on my V20.

The XL screen is beautiful, although maybe a bit over saturated but my personal taste tells me I like it. Pictures come out as good, if not better than my V20.

I'm also switching from Verizon to Project Fi. I don't use a whole lot of data because I have very fast wifi at home and work (I've followed my averages for the last six months and my low is less than a gigabyte and my max was 4GB...and that was after a FDR and reinstalling things without a WiFi connection. So I'll be saving about $60.00 per month with Fi.

I'll keep my V20 for a while, I may use it as my music player in my car. Funny thing, I've always thought my wife's V10 was better than my V20...camera, speakers, battery, screen...etc.

I find speakers irrelevant, I almost always use headphones.

As for runtime, any Li-ion battery will degrade over time and will always have a lesser charge over time.

2 years and plan to replace the Li-ion battery.

I have two batteries that I swap every couple of months. Both are genuine OEM, one is about six months newer than the original. Makes no difference...battery life is about the same for both.

As for the speaker, my biggest complaint was on hands free calls. Too much vibration and metallic sound. I used either my Tone Platinums or wired bose earbuds for music...which sounded excellent.

Biggest thing for me though is the fact that my cars hands free now works flawlessly with my Pixel XL. Something I never could get it to do with the V20, even after regular network setting resets on both the phone and the car.

If lg offers a V40 with a flat screen, 16:9 ratio, removable battery, able to withstand drops (no glass back), water resistant, quad dac, I'll buy it.
Otherwise I'm keeping my v20 until It starts having issues.

Just try to avoid updating the OS. LG from my experience isn't known for "slowing down" devices but who knows, maybe they might after seeing people hang on to the phones way longer than they should. At least it'll send them a message: the V20 is great and people still love the removable battery and durable build quality. I'm keeping my V20 for a while too, it has not shown one indication of issues yet and it's about 1.5 years now (wow, time flies!).

I used to use bluetooth but it got annoying enabling and disabling. Using a high quality AUX cable is very simple and sounds better, especially with the V20.

Enjoy the last moments with the Pixel 1's headphone jack. Also, AMOLED screens have a higher chance of burn in especially if you use turn by turn navigation. As much as I find the AMOLED beautiful, I find it inaccurate especially when photo editing.. the final photo edit looks much different when viewing on an LCD screen. Also, I'm always paranoid about the burn in though it hasn't happened to me when I owned Samsung phones, I've seen pretty bad burn in before.

I have high impedance headphones, and they sound amazing with the DAC that is in-built on the V20.

Mine is running like a champ. I am using Microsoft Launcher, and really enjoy the experience. I simply have no reason to upgrade - everything runs well, and I anticipate buying a new battery in a few months after mine is about 1 year old. Why not.

I am shopping for mine. Right now I have two samsung phones that will both go away as gifts.

I see great deals on Ebay all the time. You can get a mint condition one for $200 it seems. That is probably where I will get it.

I have also heard great reviews about swappa.

mine was $259 and allegedly brand new. so if it is and it comes with a one-year warranty then to me it's worth the extra 60 bucks.
