is anyone working on getting root?

I know I can't be the only one wondering about this...

I just picked up my MAXX last night. coming from the bionic. So far I really like the phone....

I had my bionic rooted. I can truthfully live without it, but I do really enjoy the adblock that I had with root. looking at the same apps last night without it was horrible lol

So has anyone heard any rumors or anyone working on getting root access? I know it is early, but I have already been reading post where people are prying around the file system already lol

Thanks..

check over on xda or rootzwiki, im guessing since the droid maxx bootloader is locked its going to be a few before root is obtained

I can't even find sections for the Ultra and Maxx over at xda or rootzwiki.... Only here...

It's Motorola your going to need koush build a boot strap for it.

Oh well. it is new. maybe they will jump on the bandwagon soon. I think these phones are going to be popular enough..

i think the droid line is toast IMO as far as development

I know who koush is, but what do you mean?

The previous moto droids needed a special hack after it was rooted. So Koush built what is known as a bootstrap. It allowed your phone to have a custom recovery to back up and flash ROMs
I know who koush is, but what do you mean?

Going back? It just came out yesterday. It hasnt even been in the dev's hands for more than 24 hours. Relax man, it will come.

I put in a request on XDA to open a section for the new Droids. Hopefully this hurries up.

Ha, I didn't say it was going back today... I have 14 days :-) Probably should have waited 2 weeks to buy it, but I played with it and feel in love....

I was just reading an article that a lot of devs have left the Motorola phones, I really hope that's not the case.

Can't help but wonder if it could be a little different this time, being one of the first phones since Moto was bought by Google. Perhaps they didn't lock it down so tight... then again, they might've locked it down even tighter.

What Im hoping, is that because the X and Maxx are so similar (almost completely) that there wont be much difference in ROMS,Rooting etc...

I'm coming from om the Nexus and thought I could do without root as well, but want to bypass the hotspot subscription check! Battery life is FANTASTIC on this thing... Just hope someone can crack this. Nothing coming up on xda or rootzwiki or even droidlife other than the bootloader is locked and many devs have abandoned moto. Chose this phone because it isnt bulky, i dont need a separate battery pack, and the 32GB storage. Hopefully a hero will come along soon!
