Is clash of clans killing my m8?

I have had 4 HTC one m8's over the last year and they all seem to slowly die. I think the problem is related to me playing clash of clans with the charger plugged In. My gf and I got ours m8's the same day and both were brand new. She has had zero charging issues whereas I seem to be killing them within a few months of what I consider normal use and gameplay. She doesn't really play high draining games like I do. I just wanted to know if it's my gameplay killing my phone's or bad chargers are to blame

Not really. It gets warm, but I wouldn't say overheated

Playing while the device is plugged in is never a good idea, from my experience. I destroyed my M7's battery when I did that while playing Injustice, and I definitely shortened the battery life of my M8 but I stopped doing that as soon as I realized it. My phone used to get hot, though, not just warm, so that's definitely why.
