Is Google Hangouts still available and running?

Google Hangouts might be the best message service if you agree to use a Google account.
It is cross-platform, so I literally have it on 5+ devices without having to login every time.
I can pick up conversation anywhere easily.
I can also search message history in Gmail because it is all backup.

With Teams and Slack slowly catching up, I think Google Hangouts will face some challenge.
But none of them offer unlimited backup yet. So Hangouts still wins for a small group messaging.

Btw, Duo is better for video chatting, which has much better quality.

Not that i use it, but i think the main advantage of hangouts is it combines several apps/services into one (messages, meet, duo).

Google like to make their products and services as confusing as possible, which is probably why people don't use them as often as the competition.

I still use it. I use fi service and hangouts lets me make calls, message, video chat, voicemail with transcript and... Other stuff maybe? From mobile, desktop or tablet.

What other messaging app does that,

So am I, love being able to see and respond to texts using my tablet, phone or laptop. I'll be a sad panda when that goes away.
