Is google working on fixing intranet DNS resolve issues

Since the update to 5.0 and now on 5.0.1 when on my work wifi I can no longer access intranet pages when using the name. I can access if I use the IP. When entering the name it is providing a DNS error. I can access it on my tablet that is still using 4.4 and I know there is no issue with IOS accessing the names either. This is a big fault to me and in my opinion a major coding error with 5.0. Any information on this is greatly appreciated

Looks like you are not connecting to your local intranet DNS server.

Assuming that you are connecting to the intranet via Wi-Fi. If so, check in your current settings if you are connecting via DHCP (by long pressing on the current Wi-Fi connection in settings). Otherwise if you want to set your ip address manual then make sure that you also correctly set your local DNS server at the same time.

thank you for the reply, it is not an issue with the wifi connection as I use the same credentials on 4.4 with no issue.

DNS, from the Android viewpoint, works the same whether you're using your own internal server, your provider's server or something like OpenDNS. So if you're only having a problem with your intranet name resolutions, it's a problem in your intranet. (Even if another ROM works, an industry-wide change that appeared in 5.0, but that wasn't matched by the DNS server in your intranet being updated, could cause the problem.)
