i just got my nook color. i read so much before it came in the mail. now i cant wait to start changing it to a cm7. but how hard will it be to keep it updated?

Not hard at all if you install to the internal memory. You can use rom manager and it will take care of most of the work.

When I went to update to nightly 197 rom manager said I needed to have the premium (paid) version to update. Never had that happen before. Have been doing since nightly 129 with no problems. So I downloaded 197 and copied to sdcard and installed from there.

@ckm82,

Install cm7 to internal. Use rom manager premium to take care of the rest. I just updated to 197 after being on 177 for a couple of weeks. Backed up 177 just in case, downloaded 197 and gapps, wiped dalvik cache, done. 15 minutes total.

Even on the SD card you just take out the card, put it in your computer, move a zip file over, and reboot the nook in recovery.

i spent last weekend, more hours than i care to admit trying to download cm7 to a sd card. i didn't succeed. so that tells you my skill level. i am thinking i need to buy one on ebay. so my problem is i dont know if i'll even be able to keep that up dated. I thought I was smart enought to figure this out...

It is a lot easier to just put it on the internal memory.

I put the cm7 to internal memory probably about 3 months ago. I have never updated it.

Is that something I should do regularly?

I would highly recommend it. There has been a lot of work done since then.

Do I just load the new update on my SD card and install it like I did when I put in on in the first place. Also where do I get the new versio?

Put the zip on the boot partition and reboot into recovery then just reboot out of recovery.

Are there any more in depth instructions if you are using a SDcard?

How do you know what nightly you have?

Thanks for the help.
