I dislike the people who say if this problem isn't fixed by said date I'm taking it back. They rely on HTC to fix it and don't try to fix it themselves.

If they're gonna take it back then take it back already! This early in a phone's life there are gonna be issues.

I'm an EVO fan and won't be buying Samsung. 2gb RAM or 20gb.

I'm almost afraid to ask questions on here because of people like you (OP) and after being in the other forums where people tell users w/problems to do research or to get an iphone (I didn't include the cuss words they use)

Don't get it...I have no issue helping someone that needs it. That's what forums ARE supposed to do. Share experience.

I agree with the OP to an extent.

While its nice to be able to come on and compare glitches and look for solutions, it also gets tiresome to hear the same "I'm returning this phone if" remarks

I for one love this phone for several reasons. Build quality is stellar in my opinion, its been htc's way. Another thing is updates. htc actually does them, far more than Samsung does and therefore extending the life of non rooted users phones.

That brings me to root

Look at the Dev response to this device They're on fire and i feel this will continue like the og evo just because of how fantastic the evo is. I'm now rooted which means i'll be getting all my updates via custom roms & kernels.

To me the Evo lte is a win win. Things are just heating up here and a lot of minor issues will be addressed by either htc or dev

So what if some azz hat jumps in with the obligatory useless and stupid deal with it comment . It's an Internet forum, does what some total stranger types to try and make them feel superior and special really matter? No need to lose any sleep over someone whose daily existence has no bearing on your life.

Like several have said don't be afraid to ask questions we all at some time or another didn't know some of the same things that are being asked. It think what the OP was suggesting is not those who ask questions but those who want to be the first to get a phone but complain because everything is not exactly as they want it. Early adopters of phones expect a few glitches here and there, we gladly point them our hoping to get an update to fix some things without "whining" about it. There are great people here in this forum who bend over backwards to help so don't let a few ruin your experience here.

It seems like a lot of you guys are misinterpreting what OP is saying. I never saw him say that people ask too many questions or that they shouldn't ask questions. He NEVER said people ask stupid questions(which they do). Simple fact is that there are a lot of big babies posting whiny comments because they are spoiled and expect things to be how they want. I won't post any of the absurd things I've seen because I don't want to call anyone out but some people have unrealistic expectations and some people complain just to feel superior.

I think the point being made by a few of the recent posts is simple, many forums have users just waiting to pounce on noobs and people who aren't as tech savvy by bashing them for their questions. That type of activity doesn't fly here at AC and we make the best attempts to prevent this from happening or stop it immediately when it does. Nobody should ever come into a forum expecting to be knocked for asking a question.

I'm not sure how you got that from one question but I do agree with what you mean. If you do not like the phone and are planning on returning it, just return it. No need to start a new thread about how its going back tomorrow. It doesn't matter why it is going back. Simply return it and find a phone that fits you better.

This forum has been great for me to find answers. There has been great feedback and a lot of the issues posted are valid and do need to be addressed. Often when one person posts an issue, someone else has found a solution. Having said that yes, there are still whiners on here.

As for the root. I so want to do it but I really need to know more about it and know more about what I can do with my phone once I've rooted. Until then. . unrooted:'(
