Hi there,

This is my first post, and my smartphone. I was just wondering if it is normal for smart phones to get hot. I feel high temperatures near the camera area and on opposite side on the screen, even while surfing at 30-60% screen brightness (no simultaneous multitasking or charging). It only takes 10-15 min for the phone to get hot. Is this normal or do I have a defective unit. Other than that the phone is grt, including the battery life (I m in a 3g area).

Thanks in advance

Yes, it is normal especially when the screen is on. After heavy use of my phone my battery temp is around 95 degrees and the CPU is around the same. My old phone ran around 110 degrees with no problems.

So how do you monitor the temp then? Thanks for the quick reply.

its pretty normal with these phones, my buddy snapped about 40 pics in a row to test the no shutter on my camera and the phone was super hot after, under normal use it gets pretty warm, not hot.

All phones normally have a built in protection to monitor the battery temp and if it gets to a certain point it will usually give a warning pop up and then power the unit down until it cools off... My wife's Epic has this problem when running Angry Birds....
