Is it okay to turn your wifi on and off frequently?

Me too, depending on what's going on in any given day I might be enabling/disabling WiFi multiple times a day.

Just curious but do you recall where you read that claim? I have to wonder if there's more explanation to add context, perhaps certain situation where that might make more sense and not just be an odd suggestion without merit.
Really, there's no moving parts involved to wear down, it's a matter of software interacting with some electronic components.
