Is It Partly Inaccurate Battery Calibration?

It seems that it takes a suspiciously long time for the battery level to dip below 100%. On my Droid Turbo it dipped to 99% almost immediatly, and certainly within a couple of minutes, when I took it off the charger.

This was underscored for me even more strongly than the perception I'd had when I left the gym earlier today and saw the phone was still at 100% via Gsam Battery Monitor. I confirmed with the Android Battery Monitor. The screen was mainly off while I was there, but I was playing music (on my SD card) via Powerramp.

Anyway, here are a couple of screenshots. The Android capture is a bit later, after the percentage dipped to 99%:



To further my suspicion of bad callibration, it also seemed to me even before these stats today, that the phone took too long to dip under 100% (and actually to maybe 94%) and then drained much more quickly once it got past the low 90s. This is anecdotal and perception, but it's what I think was happening. Hardly a scientific study, though.

Any thoughts or others who have experienced this? Apologies if it's already been discussed. I didn't see it on search or general perusal of threads, and it doesn't really fit in the battery opttimization thread.

Yeah, I've noticed mine takes a long time to come off 100% as well. After it does, it drops much faster. I sure hope this gets address, along with all the other stuff piling up.

Yes, sitting at 100% for a long time before dropping a percentage point is normal for the G4....it was the same with the G3.
By contrast my Nexus 5 drops to 99% very quickly.

The same across the board, why exactly Lg has it calibrated like this is anyone's guess

Thanks for the feedback guys. It's at least good to know mine is acting as expected. That said, my battery life has been very bad this week. Of course, much of that has to do with the "getting it set up just right" phase, but I was pretty much done with the main stuff in the first half of the day Tuesday. I just see it draining faster than it should, and than others are reporting. Hasn't even been a week since I got it yet, so we'll see.

As it stands, I haven't even gotten to 10 hours of battery life on Gsam, but I am over 4 hours of SoT. Will be interesting to see how that looks in a month or so.

There is definitely a dead zone at the top where it will stay at 100 % for approximately 5-7%

I may be crazy, but I could swear that the G4 has a longer battery break-in period than any other phone I've owned. After about a week and a half I noticed a significant increase in battery life, and that has remained so since then. And it's not just getting over the "new phone stage", where one uses it less after getting everything set up. If anything, I'm hitting it harder now that I have more confidence in its longevity. YMMV.
