Is it possible for a battery to go bad in just over a month?

I bought my Evo on 8/29 and up until a few days ago, I could go through about two whole days on one charge.

A few days ago things changed. For example, I fully charged my Evo about 15 hours ago and have done nothing but check it every few hours to see how much battery has been lost. I'm now down to 17 percent.

The only thing that I have done differently in the past few days is to test out the video chat in Qik a few times with a buddy of mine who just bought the Evo.

I have basically everything turned off and keep it that way unless I need it and just can't imagine what has caused the sudden drop in battery power.

Any thoughts or tips would be appreciated.

Yeah, most likely some app is devouring your battery, even if you don't have any new ones. It could be qik is stuck running in the background, or otherwise.

Qik might be it. I went in and checked my applications and Qik was running in the background. I force stopped it and hope that will fix the problem.

Thanks for the help.

Qik has never done that to me...and no that shouldn't be possible, unless it was bad in the first place. If qik is causing that problem I would recommend getting a task manager and enable auto kill...just doing that in general is a good idea to free up memory and stop programs that are running in the background that you are no longer using...

It looks like Qik running in the background was the problem. I had to go out for a few hours and was only able to charge my battery up to 23 percent before I left. After almost 4 hours and some moderate use, I was still at 15 percent. Before, if I had left Qik running, I'm sure the entire battery would have drained in this time.

I'm doing a full charge right now and will post if it turns out I was wrong. I don't think I am though.
