Is it possible to push OTA update when the system asks to connect the device to pc via usb?

My usb charging/connecting unit is dead and beyond repair. I managed to revive the phone with a wireless charger, though the USB port is no longer working for anything. I tried to upgrade software but it requires to connect the device, which is impossible in this case. Is there any work around to force the system upgrade without the USB port? Thank you guys

Unfortunately, nope. If the update is only available via Local transfer (USB), then you can only get it that way as the system won't see it OTA. Now, if the update is already in your phone but the device asks you to connect to power (maybe your battery is below their battery level requirement), you still can't bypass that, but if you find a way to charge the phone, that should do the trick once you reach their minimum charge level needed.

Thanks for the response. No, I'm not able to even download it unless I plug the USB cord to the computer. So I Guess I'm done

Or you could have the port fixed. My brother once broke his Samsung's port and repair at the local Samsung service center cost him an equivalent of 4USD. I don't think LG repair would be priced far from that.

It isn't just the port, but the whole charging unit. The repair cost would be USD 300

Oh dang. At that price you can buy a decent midrange 2017 phone whose performancr would be similar or even better than a G3.

My thoughts exactly. I got myself another device last year when this one got this issue and just brought it back to life with the wireless charger. But I can’t see the use of keeping it, or even selling it... the USB port is very important anyway. Thanks for your input !
