type 'u' in a message and have it convert it to 'you', or for it to capitalize 'i'? I have looked everywhere and I can't find an answer to this question. Thanks!

yea, that feature was called AutoText on blackberries and I miss it

supposedly, there is autotext with the smart keyboard pro, but im not willing to pay for it just yet

you can imput your own words in the stock keyboard but when i hit enter it doesnt seem to take. Like u and i

you should be able to go to settings, then language and keyboard -then touch input and add them to your user dictionary

actually i think it may have to be more than 1 letter, thats why I wont take...id like it to capitalize on auto too

Can I get back the suggested words that the default Evo keyboard used using smartboard? Does the pro version offer that or does it use its own?

Also is there a way to get the close key back? The key on the Evo's stock keyboard that closes the keyboard. There are times when I just need the keyboard to go away! i:Di

I just DL'd the demo version, and I think the Evo's back (<-) button gets rid of the expanded on-screen keyboard.

What really bugs me about the word suggestions is that the suggestions are not very intuitive... for example, when I start typing the word "can't", the first 4 suggestions I get after I have typed "can" are... "can", "van", "cab", and "cam". This is really a pain because I have to either long press the "C" key all the time to get the hyphen or press the down arrow to get more suggestions... both of these options really slows down typing. This wouldn't be that big of a deal if this only happened on some words but almost every word with hyphens that I type will not move their suggestions toward the top of the list until I have spell out the hyphen.

The suggestions are accounting for keyboard typos, not strictly word completion
