Is it really full quality on the pixel 2?

[Android Central Question]

I noticed when I downloaded a picture from my Google photos it was 2.4mb, when I took that same file from my phone and looked at it in my computer, it was 4.9mb.

I thought it's supposed to be full quality with our pixel 2?

Welcome to Android Central! Yes, it's supposed to be Original Quality. All of my photos are the same size when I compare the size of the original photo on the phone and when I download them from Google Photos on my Chromebook. Is it possible that the picture you downloaded from Google Photos had been edited or enhanced?
