I just got my s3 frontier connected to ATT from Samsung support after some major repairs. It is working great now including the battery life....the repair was for very decreased battery life after updating to 3.0.0. I has 2.0 again now and wonder if its safe to update to 3.0.1 now.

TIA for any info.

I updated to the 3.0 and was having all kinds of issues. As a lot have said, resetting the watch is needed. My watch is running good now after resetting it.

I have found more problems with 3 than 2 and requiring more resets. But neither was completely reliable. 3 removed the ADT function which I had subscribed to.

I have the Gear S3 Frontier but with T-Mobile. I got it last year about a month before the Note 8 came out.
I updated to tizen 3.0 about 2-3 weeks ago.
So far no issues *knocks on wood, and battery it's still great, actually better.

I also have a Frontier with T-Mobile and upgraded about a month ago. Initially there were some issues but after a hard reset it settled down. Battery is the same as before though. I'd do it again.

I am still on Tizen 3.0.0.1 and the battery life is still bad even after a reset. I am on Verizon and do not see any more updates

My s3 battery went to Hades after the 3.0.0.1 update. I did a reset on the watch and it didnt help at all. Has ruined the entire s3 experience for me. This is on am LTE version with TMO. I can barely get one day out of the battery now whereas I used to get three days.

It sounds like upgrading is a bad idea. I'm surprised that more users are not voicing their dissatisfaction about this.

Maybe there really aren't as many dissatisfied users as you might think... One thing I've noticed with a lot of these technology/gadget forums is that nobody ever comes here to praise the product. They only come to get help with an issue.

Here, we have a few hundred to a couple thousand users agreeing with a few other users that posted about an issue... And perhaps a couple to a few million users that haven't had an issue at all.

Just something to think about.

It is a good day when it goes all the way without a boost charge.

I've regretted upgrading since day one. I've used Samsung smartwatches for 4 years straight, and this was the most troubling update I've ever experienced. Not so much buggy as they removed the swipe-down-to-go-back feature that was a staple of these watches for years. New users might not mind or even know about that but if you've had it for a long time it's built into the way things operate and now it's gone as if it didn't matter. As someone who wears the watch on the right wrist, it's the worst possible thing they could have done because now I have to reach across my watch awkwardly to press the back button. Might not seem like a pain, but try it for a week and you'll hate your user experience so much. With these watches, it's those little things that make a big difference. So no, I would not update. I'm looking into finding ways to roll back right now. I gave it 2 months and I hate it more and more every day.
