after 3 documented cases of defects on 3 replacement Galaxy Nexus phones since
beginning of January, Verizon has given me the option to trade my GN for any other
Verizon smartphone, free of charge. (or just get a 4th Galaxy Nexus)
I do love my GN. If I ditch it, I'd be wasting money on several phone-specific
accessories that I bought over the last few months.(docks, cases, etc)
I asked the Verizon tech in the corporate store if I can just get the GS 3 instead.
He checked with the manager who said "no problem" immediately. The only
catch is the wait. (plus the fact that none of us have seen an actual GS 3 yet)
Normally, I would just get the GS III and be done with it. However, the manager
also gave me the option of accepting another Galaxy Nexus(new-in-box from
the store, not a certified pre-owned one that has be ordered from VZW warehouse)
He said he would leave instructions on my account that I can still exchange it
for the GS III.
What should I do? Get a replacement GN now or wait? I'm now without a
smartphone and using a "dumb" phone.
I told them I'd think about it. I'm actually sitting outside the VZW corporate store
right now and typing this message on my laptop from my car.
