Is Maintaining Playlist Hopeless in OTA JB or Maxx?

I know a few post addressed this issue here and there, but I was hoping that the OTA JB would solve the annoying problem of Maxx not being able to maintain it's playlist: i.e., songs disappearing after you plug it into a computer or just disappearing after a while. I've used Google's Play Music, Moto's My Music, used Rocket Player and what not and the result is always the same: the songs in the playlist disappear and I have que/list them up again. I don't think I've ever had this problem with HTC Incredible. Am I missing something or do I just give up on playlist on the Maxx?
