is my evo 3d defective?

Sometimes it randomly lags like crazy. I did a factory reset and erased the memory card. Before installing any apps, the keyboard was lagging .5 to 1.0 seconds. It's nowhere near as fast as it was when i first got it. Keyboard is lagging everyday. Even right now, typing this. Lag lag lag

Tonight I noticed the screen brightness doing funny things. It is fully lit, then it dims, then 10 to 15 seconds later it returns to full brightness. It repeats this behavior over and over. ALL WITHOUT ME EVER TOUCHING THE SCREEN. It's plugged into Ac, so can it be the battery?

is it stock or rooted and overclocked? either way that is strange behavior

Keyboard is lagging so frequently.

I have a 4000 mha battery. Could that be defective? Should I try replacing the phone or the battery first?

This keyboard lag is so frustrating that its not fun using the phone anymore. It's lagging everytime now. Even after a full reset.

does it seem to be any hotter than normal? i think i would call sprint or take it to a store and let them check it out

Yes it does seem to be hotter than normal.

The battery life is dropping unusually fast.
