Is there any obvious way to tell if it is a fake?
First red flag is that Software status is labeled "Modified". To my knowledge it should only be labeled as that if and only if it has been rooted or an attempt at rooting it has been made. There was an app that was on my phone that I am sure is something you download once you've rooted your phone however I deleted it (and forgot it's name).
Second red flag: I tried unrooting the phone to see if I could get rid of the "modified" status and my computer crashed on me, twice. Here's the link to the tutorial I was following to unroot (edit: can't post links, but the site is called androidrootz and is a tut on unrooting back to stock firmware) and I would like to know if I can trust it.
Images of phone and screen shots included.
