Is price deterring you from purchase?

The previous phones had so many deals (trade in or otherwise) that the price gap feels huge. The last few might have been expensive... but who paid anything close to the base price? Now even the carrier discounts are pretty negligible ... and you don't own the phone at the end of a lease that's barely less than the full price.
The deals are mostly the VR junk that I've no interest in at all.

Price isn't too bad as I thought. Flagship phones used to be around $549.99 - $649.99. I'm always going to go for the unlocked version, don't let the carrier's lure you in.

I buy the Verizon version which is unlocked and use it on various prepaid offerings. Past two months I've used freedom pop at the cost of $4.

The price is fine. The product is deterring me, but if I liked the product, pricetag is pretty close to where I think it should be.
